Tough! Â Under 32 mins all things considered pretty OK with that!
Yet another effort to try and keep this up to date, a lot has happened since last time.
First of all, after 8 years I finally took the plunge and moved on from Fasthosts.  Big decision but it was time.  New job is great. https://uk.linkedin.com/in/frankashworth
We moved to Bishops Cleeve which we love, great house although the really big news is that we no longer fit in it already.
Meet James, on the right, and George. Â Born 7th April 2015 they have turned our lives upside down. Â Poor Alfie has been good as gold and is certainly, to us at least, the best big bro ever known!
6 months in we’re surviving, lots of good times to follow and maybe this time I’ll keep my online diary going 🙂
I booked this hotel off the back of a Travelzoo offer, £39 room only with £15 credit towards any spend in the hotel. To be fair I think it was worth this. They did charge me instead of using the credit but after just getting off the phone with them they were very helpful and refunded their error so I see that as petty good service.
It’s a Village hotel that has been bought out by Brittania so it does seem to be in transition, they really need to update the place though. The corridor outside our room smelled of damp and ther was an area where the carpet was wet.
The room was OK, no air con but again, for the price, should I expect this?? We had told them we were bringing our own travel cot and for some reason they had put a spare bed in the room, I just moved it out of the way but was surprised it was an air bed rather than a mattress, I’ve never seen that before in a hotel? Also, not the best bed I’ve ever stayed in but ok for 1 night.
Had a drink in the bar which was ok, breakfast was good although a bit pricey at £10 per head, all you can eat buffet style.
Didn’t use the leisure facilities but the pool looked fantastic, if they get the rest of the place up to the same standard they’ll do ok.
In summary, we were just staying as a stopover to cut up a long journey so for our purposes it was fine. As a hotel you would book for business it would also work I suppose however not the place for a relaxing weekend for example, not yet anyway!

Hidden gem of a site, we had awful weather on arrival on the Friday but the wardens were out in the rain helping us find our spot, really pleasant and friendly people.
Weather sorted itself on the Saturday and we had a walk down to the beach, we have a 1 year old and the pram can only get half way down the path but this wasn’t a problem, it’s worth a little bit of heavy lifting to get down to the amazing bay.
Clean toilets, nice little shop and nice atmosphere, I’d really recommend you try this place out…..just don’t let too many people know, I want to be able to book back in!!
